BBC is a very broad and comprehensive approach to business case development used extensively across Aotearoa/New Zealand.

BBC has been developed as a thinking and planning tool.  You will learn a broad range of tools a wide range of areas to consider.  These areas include:-

Agile is an optimal approach where the client can’t tell you what they want until they see it.  Recognising this Agile PM takes you through a series of steps to ensure you are clear on what the clients wants to achieve.  

You will also learn specific Agile techniques including MoSCoW Prioritisation, Daily Stand Ups, Timeboxes and User Stories to name a few.

MoP gives you best practice advice on how to look at all your organisations activities and determine the focus areas  over the coming years.  

MoP recognises the need for senior management commitment along with balance and a benefits focus.  This means an optimal range of projects and programmes will be delivered based upon the organisations strategic objectives.

With MoP the work of the organisation (the Portfolio) will have senior management commitment and a real focus on benefits.

PRINCE2 7 gives you best practice advice on how to kick your projects off, run them, deal with things that go wrong and close them down when it is time to finish.

PRINCE2 is a Methodology which means it provides you with guidance on the steps you need to take to run a project and the things you need to be aware of and pay attention to.

It is very strong on the concepts of projects sitting under a governance and control framework and being underpinned by a business case.

This is to ensure that projects deliver what the the organisation wants and in a way which stakeholders are comfortable with.

MSP provides the knowledge and understanding of those that have successfully delivered programmes over the past 2 decades.  This best practice advice tells you about the areas you need to focus on and the steps you need to take.  

MSP recognises that while managing interlinking projects is important is it also important to have a Vision and to focus on Benefits.  

It is very strong on the concepts of programmes being well governed and controlled while allowing the constituent projects to successfully deliver to the vision.

MSP recognises the need to actively manage change and has roles and processes for this.  Stakeholders are an active consideration and MSP gives considerable guidance on an approach to active management.
